ZOAN (ZU-AN)

is not just a name; it embodies a rich historical narrative that finds its roots in the ancient city of Zoan, also known as Tsoan or Tanis. In Hebrew, Zoan (צֹעַן) signifies strength, which is fitting given its historical significance. This city was a key player in ancient Kemet, located in the north-eastern Nile Delta, and is often mentioned in numerous scripture references such as Numbers 13:22, Psalm 78, and Isaiah 19.

Zoan was the capital of the Hyksos, a dynasty of Shepherd kings who ruled Egypt for over five centuries, and it served as the frontier town of Goshen. This location is historically intriguing as it was where Pharaoh held court during pivotal encounters with Moses and Aaron. The Greeks later referred to this city as Tanis, which was established seven years after Hebron.

Today, no trace of Zoan exists as Tanis was constructed over its ruins, leaving only extensive mounds that signify what once was one of the grandest and oldest cities in the world. This legacy of strength and resilience is what inspired me to name my business XOEÂN, reflecting a commitment to foundational values and the power of history as we build towards the future.
